About Us
The strategy of Avotova is simple. Give developers, managers, and executives the resources to grow with changes in technology. Provide an extremely beneficial advantage for their IT needs. Code that is simply 'old' does not mean that it doesn't work. So much time and energy went into creating it! Your business, employees, and clients depend on it. They know it. Our goal is to keep that code adaptable. Our company strategy is simply to help make older code 'new again'....to bring it into today's technology. Our main goal is to help our customers keep what works and fix what doesn't. We know our software backwards and forwards which is why our name is spelled the same backwards as forwards and each letter is reversible as a capital letter. Our software development has always centered around wizards that actually write source code. With all Windows XP machines no longer being supported with updates, the old VB6 apps need to be converted to run on Windows 7 or greater. To maintain SOX compliance, your apps need to run on supported Operating Systems receiving updates. Database functionality can be brought up to native VB.net standards with additional programming services from Avotova. Our goal is to make you happy and your code as good as it can be! Conversion Services can now be completed by using Avotova Consulting services!

Avotova.com was first registered in 1995 and has always been the software umbrella of our founder. The development of the "VB6 to VB.Net Converter" was written over several years much more recently.
Our primary conversion expert first developed Basic apps in 1985 on an Apple 2e. He then coded in Excel VBA, Visual Basic 3 for help-desk applications, converted DOS apps to both 16 bit & 32 bit apps in VB4 for national distribution by a large publisher, then built various telephony and call center apps in Visual Basic 5 & 6 for many years. As the primary developer for the largest travel company in North America then the sole developer for the largest manufacturer of another industry product while using every version of Visual Studio, he decided there had to be a better way to convert old code. Most development experience by our staff has been in VB6 and ultimately every version of VB.Net. 30+ years experience and expertise in conversions is now at your command in the "Avotova VB6 to VB.Net Converter". Our core company product has always centered around building code wizards. These are applications that read data from one location and interpret it into usable source code. In one case, a single wizard allowed a telephony company to reduce its development staff by 90% by reading the specs from sales documents then creating all the VB code automatically! Projects that used to take to 3 months to complete and were reduced to mostly the testing / implementation stages. Our founder explains: "Converting VB6 apps to .Net is similar to other code wizards we have written. The data already exists in the source files; applying it to a new structure has always been the challenge." Our developers selected Visual Basic 2010 to be the best conversion point from VB6 to allow the most flexibility to customers. Anyone with a newer version of Visual Studio such as 2012, 2013, or newer can then easily convert the application from the 2010 version once it is created. If a customer needs help beyond the conversion, we can also provide remote IT services...even if a customer has a need to outsource all their VB code. We're flexible.
